The
Motor Vessel Island Princess is a Florida Style Motor Yacht. She is 65 feet long
by 22 feet wide, making her one of the most stable vessels in her class. The
Island Princess has two levels, a lower and upper deck. The lower deck including
main cabin and walk around can accommodate over 80 guests. Fully equipped with
an LCBO licensed bar and elegant food counters, the lower level features a brand
new walk around which encircles the entire vessel. The new walk around is
extremely unique and allows passengers to stand along the railings while
enjoying the breathtaking sceneries of Toronto's Skyline, the Toronto Islands,
Humber Bay, Ontario Place as well as many Yacht Clubs and their luxurious
yachts. The walk around is also the perfect venue for watching dazzling
fireworks on summer nights. This new addition is a huge hit with our customers,
allowing for open air and sunshine to be a part of their cruise. The upper deck
can accommodate and additional 40 to 60 guests and features a stylish sunroof
dance floor. It includes a new sunshine deck where guests can unwind in the warm
sunshine and loosen to the fresh air. The upper deck also houses the ship’s
Wheel House. Passengers are always welcome to visit Captain Bob Muran, and under
his watchful eyes try their hand at steering the ship. Our staff, hand picked
for their people skills and experience in the hospitality industry is able to
create an atmosphere of warmth and caring only possible in a family run
operation.
Captain Bob Muran, a Canadian Coast Guard
Licensed Capitan (Lic.#85306) started out as a
sailor and boat rental operator in Toronto's
High Park in 1969. After 18 years of successful,
safe and accident free operation, Bob began a
charter boat service in Toronto's Harbour with
the M.V. Golden Girl. A few years later he
purchased Fascination, a professional Sport
Salmon Fishing Rig. Both proved to be very
successful, departing daily from Toronto's
Harbour. Soon after, Bob operated the M.V.
Majesty, a 65-foot Classic Presidential Motor
Yacht that carried 32 passengers.
Today,
Bob Muran is Captain to the Island Princess, a family owned and operated cruise
boat that has been touring the great waters of Lake Ontario since 1982. The
Island Princess is certified by the Canadian Coast Guard and fully licensed by
the L.C.B.O. In addition, every crew member is highly qualified for the duties
they perform. Last year, our vessel went through a series of changes and
improvements which enabled it to operate with a capacity of 100 passengers.
Captain Bob Muran’s top priority remains his passenger’s safety and well-being,
therefore he and his entire crew go through extensive training on a regular
basis. This includes Marine First Aid, Advanced Life Saving, Fire Fighting,
Passenger Evacuation and Crowd Control along with other instruction involving
passenger safety. His staff also perform routine drills aboard the Island
Princess to ensure the safest on-deck environment. During the winter, Captain
Bob is a professional skier and racing coach. You may learn more at
